Pros: Residents like the program. Affordable place to live.

Cons: Only four attendings. Not all specialties covered. Program has had some problems in the past, but recently received 3 year accreditation in 2006. Mobile is a small town in the South considered very remote for bigger city folks.

Final Word: Small, weaker program with history of some unfilled spots.

I'm not sure about the program itself, but Mobile is anything but a small, remote, Southern town. It is the largest city on the Gulf Coast between New Orleans and St. Petersburg, FL with a population of over 400,000 people. There are also plenty of activities to participate in around the city. You will never be bored, and will always have something to do.
