Residents have not been scattered since Katrina - that is New Orleans you are referring to. This program has tons of operating experience and autonomy. We are getting a new chairman at the start of the new year and our program is headed in a good direction.

To update, LSUHSC-Shreveport has hired a new Chairman. He is from Baylor and has solid plans for this program. Additional faculty hirings are on the horizon and the program is headed in the right direction.

Also, most of the description above describes LSU-New Orleans. The city of Shreveport was not affected by Katrina and the facilities are fine. The program takes 3 residents/year. The city has plenty to do with lots of festivals like most southern cities. It has a nice downtown area along with Bossier City across the Red River. City's major attraction is the casinos.
