Reputation: Middle of the road university program in good location.
Pros: Small program with lots of OR time. Nice medical center. Program strength is in Sports. Decent trauma experience. Improving with additions of Spine and Trauma attendings and research faculty. Foot & Ankle and Tumor covered. Female-friendly program with several female residents. Research requirement of two papers per resident. Tuscon is a nice affordable Arizona college town.
Final Word: Improving middle tier university program in Southern Arizona.

I am a U of A resident who is about to graduate. This is a great program with excellent operative experience. Although the number of full-time faculty is relatively small, we work with a number of good community attendings. ALL subspecialties are covered, including Foot & Ankle (4th year) and Tumor (5th year).
