Great community program with a lot of autonomy for the residents at AMC (main hospital). Not much clinic, a lot of operating. Spend 3 months ortho as intern. All 2nd years are on call 2x/week. Round as a team. Not much scut work. Get in the OR as intern doing nails. Many perks with bascially all meals free. All residents got free northface jackets with name this year. 3rd and 4th years more cush than first 2 (except 4 months operating at Grady with Emory residents). Can moonlight and make money. Also, there is a gym on the hospital site where you can work out for free. Decent gym with bball court comparable to a large YMCA. Can work out while on call. Residents are extrememly cool and some of the nicest I rotated with. In search of permanent PD, but program has heavy resident imput. Rotated and was VERY pleasantly surprised.
